Pet Prattle and Products

I read several news posts about how many pets were being left outside Humane Societies and Animal Control Centers in dog carriers, cat carriers and even run down pet strollers.  One report said they found thirteen kittens stuffed into cat carriers outside their door.  Another said they found ten puppies stuffed into dog carriers.  This is so sad!

The reports stated it’s worse than it’s been in many years.  Tough economic times have left people with having to choose whether they can afford to keep their pets.  Many can’t so they load them up in old pet strollers or whatever they have and drop them off at these shelters.  Of course, that’s better than just leaving them on the side of the road somewhere, but it’s still heartbreaking. 

Many places are looking for foster homes for these abandoned animals.  Their space and resources just aren’t big enough for all the new animals coming in.  So if you have room and can find it in your heart to help out, please contact your local Animal Control and/or Humane Society.
