July is designated as UV Safety Month so we wanted to give you some additional hot weather safety tips for your pets.
Make sure your pets have access to shaded areas or air conditioning. If you take your pets out, put them in pet strollers to provide shade. Brushing your pet regularly helps to remove excess hair and keep your pets cooler. Brushing also helps to keep your pet beds, dog crates, dog carriers and cat carriers cleaner.
Put sunscreen on your pets ears and nose or any sensitive areas. They can burn just like humans. Use of pet strollers will help here, too. Avoid taking your pets with you to places that are crowded as this just increases the heat.
