Someone asked me recently why their dog whines and barks when inside dog crates. It’s very much like dogs in dog pens, I think. Have you ever noticed that dogs in dog pens are quite satisfied until a human shows up. It’s a dog’s natural desire to want to be with us. So if they’re in dog pens or dog crates when they see us, they start barking or whining.
I suggest the use of covers on your dog crates. This will help your dog feel more secure as they minimize the distractions your dog sees.
