Moving day can be a dangerous day for your pets. It’s impossible to watch out for your furry friends when doors are opening and closing all day long. If you know someone, or have family in your new location, it’s best to drop your pet off there until the “moving” activities are done. If you have to keep your pets with you on moving day, here are some ideas.
Keep them in whatever you kept them in for the trip to the new location whether it’s cat carriers, dog carriers or dog crates until the “move” is accomplished. Try to find a less hectic spot to place these while the “move” is occurring. If your new location has a backyard, set up your dog pens first and then let your dog loose in the dog pens. For both of these, be sure to stop and check on your pet occasionally to reassure them they’re in a good place and that you’re nearby.
