Winter Safety Tips

December 5th, 2007 · No Comments · pet health

Last night it got down to the 30′s here in Florida.  That’s cold for us!  Of course, it’s only supposed to last a couple of days and then we’re back to 60′s and 70′s.  Ya gotta love paradise!

Did you know frostbite is the number one winter pet hazard? If you live where it’s cold, keep your cats inside in cozy cat beds.  If you still want that fresh air, put down some blankets in pet strollers or cat carriers before taking your furry friend for a spin.

It’s probably best to shorten exercise walks for your dog.  Be sure to wipe off their paws when you get home so no rock salt or antifreeze remains.  Then have warm dog blankets or heated dog beds ready and waiting.

Till next time …
