Okay, it’s not George of the Jungle (I’m really dating myself here), but we do need to be aware of some of the common mishaps with pets and the holidays.
Let’s face it, cats love to climb trees so make sure yours is secure. You may need to use your cat carriers or move their cat beds to another part of the house to remove temptation.
Christmas tree lights aren’t grounded, so if your pet likes to chew on wires, be sure to unplug your tree lights when not in use. Poinsettia plants are poisonous so keeping them in higher areas is better than on the floor.
The dogs will be in their dog crates, or out in their dog pens alot during the season so she doesn’t swallow any foreign objects … tinsel, string, etc.
The main thing is to be aware of holiday items that could be potentially harmful to our furry loved ones and take the necessary precautions.
Till next time …
