I saw an article in Business News recently that had some interesting statistics on pet ownership. Nothing we pet owners didn’t already know about how much we love our furry friends, but now it’s confirmed.
The article states that pet ownership is at an all time high with 63% of all households owning at least one pet. That’s 71.1 million homes!
The pet industry is booming and pet owners are ready to buy the best pet strollers and designer dog beds and cat carriers for our little loved ones.
It seems much of the spending is coming from mainly empty nesters and older singles. Our pets fill an emotional need and we splurge on the best pet beds and dog crates around.
It’s long been said that having pets brings joy and extends one’s life. I can’t say for sure about the extension of one’s life, but I can certainly say Pepper and Sugar bring an abundance of joy to us.
