Another Thanksgiving feast come and gone. All that time to prepare and gobbled up in no time. All the while we humans sit at the big table and eat, our furry family members look on from their dog crates or cat beds wondering what all the excitement is about.
Pepper and Sugar, fondly called the spice girls, know they will not be receiving any human food from the table, so they don’t even bother trying to beg. We learned early on how annoying table begging can be, and how potentially dangerous some human foods can be.
Chocolate is a definite no no for dogs, and turkey … well, let’s just say it doesn’t agree with everyone. A friend of ours has a dog that should never eat turkey. Not everyone knew this and he was fed turkey yesterday. Poor thing’s gas cleared the room. Pepper was circling one of her pet strollers wanting a ride in the fresh air, and Sugar wanted outside the dog pens. The other furry guests went scrambling to their respective pet beds in other rooms.
Needless to say, all in attendance will think twice before feeding human food to their pets in the future.
Till next time …
